    Frequently asked questions

What is the TNPSC signature size?

Sign inside a 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm box (230 × 75 pixels). The file must be 10 KB to 20 KB, 200 DPI, JPG, saved as Signature.jpg.

How do I prepare the signature?

Draw a 6 × 2 cm box on white paper, sign inside it with a blue or black ink pen, and scan it at 200 DPI. Crop only the box. This tool finds the box, crops it and resizes it for you.

My scan has a grey or shadowy background. Is that a problem?

A clear image is required, and unclear images can lead to rejection. Turn on background cleaning to make the paper white and the ink darker.

    Is my signature uploaded anywhere?

No. The whole process runs inside your browser. Your signature never leaves your phone or computer.

Why does the tool mention padding bytes?

A 230 × 75 px signature is very small and usually stays under 10 KB even at the highest quality. The tool adds harmless padding (a JPEG comment) to reach the 10 KB minimum without changing the image.
