    Frequently asked questions

What is the TNPSC photo size?

130 × 170 pixels (3.5 cm × 4.5 cm), between 20 KB and 50 KB, 200 DPI, JPG format, saved as Photograph.jpg. The top 115 px shows your face; the bottom 55 px shows your name and the date of photography.

Do I have to print my name and date on the photo?

Yes. Notification No. 11/2026 requires your name and the date of photography at the bottom of the photo, and the photo must be taken on or after 06.10.2026. This tool prints both on the photo – enter the date the studio actually took it.

Can I use a selfie or a mobile phone photo?

No. The notification says photos taken with mobile phones, selfies, photocopies, family-function photos and photos against plants or buildings should not be uploaded. Use a colour photo taken in a studio against a white background. This tool only resizes and formats it.

Can I use this as a TNPSC photo editor?

Yes. You can crop the photo, add your name and date of photography, and export it in the exact official size and file size, all in one step.

    Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens inside your browser. Your photo and details never leave your phone or computer.

Why does the tool mention padding bytes?

A 130 × 170 px image is very small, so even at the highest quality it is often under 20 KB. The tool adds harmless padding (a JPEG comment) so the file reaches the 20 KB minimum. The picture itself is not changed.
